I am interested in the relationship between image and text--the visual and verbal arts. In composing stories, poems, and creative non-fiction, writers are always striving to capture images with words. On the other hand, the visual artist strives with a series of images to create compelling subtextural narrative. This blog includes some book arts pieces, found object mixed media assemblages, and collage art which explores the relationship between image and text.

I write poems, short stories--lately flash fiction and short shorts. I've had stories published in Northwest Review, The Literary Review, Big Muddy, Things That Are True, Elder Mountain and others. I've written four books, two collections of poems, a Cherokee narrative and one collection of short stories. Sometimes, I write in my 10 foot travel trailer.
